what bearded guy???

The bearded guy that told Jack that this is 'their island.' He was also shown talking to Ethan while claire was in the baby room just sans beard which Kate found his 'beard' in a locker along with the others clothing and theatrical glue

The bearded guy who was on the boat that took Walt. The bearded guy who's been 'leading' the others. The others appear to be a complete act. When they wander the island and do anything devious they put on the 'other' gear.

WoW... quite a show. Looks like the writers finally decided to throw us a bone. Lots to soak in for the big picture. Biggest thing I noted - seems there's a leader of the others that's gonna show up sometime. The guy talking to Ethan asked what was "He" going to say and then the guy in the hatch at the end made that quip about living in someone else's shadow. Definitely a big time player on the others' side. Other back pieces falling into place too with Rousseau and stuff. Eco is just a bad ass. They're definitely not gonna mess with that guy, even if he is a priest now. So by my count, they've found 3 hatches. How many were there in the video? Kinda bugs me that they aren't exploring the things more when they find them, but that would probably spoil it. I mean they found a good shelter with food and running water, yet they're all still living in tent city on the beach? Anyway, I'm hooked so this was an awesome show!!!

:thumbsup::thumbsup:

I really liked this episode better, don't think it was as good as the better ones last season, but I think this was far and away the best one of this year, so I'm happy. ALthough I will say that this is starting to sound like some of the psychology experiments from the early 1900's before ethical committees were created, actually it's exactly like several that were done, minus the plane crash. So my money's on the whole thing being a twisted psychological experiment, and they were brainwashed into believing there was a plane crash.

Nice... I hadn't heard that theory before. I've read on the forums about it being purgatory and all kinds of stuff, but not a psych experiment. Agreed, last season was better, but shows like this one keep it going.

exactly! Every show has an off season, hopefully this is just Lost's off season, and even then there'll still be some good episodes during this season I hoep.

the purgatory thing is kinda creepy.....

Some thoughts.

"medicine" that claire was given, was this also the same meds Desmond was taking?

When libby and claire were talking, they panned to Hurley when asked if she was a shrink. It was mentioned that Libby and Hurley knew each other at some point. Is it possible that Libby worked at the Psyc ward hurley was in?

In the preview Sun is asking for a Pregnancy test, implying that she was. They also through in that scene with her and claire about motherhood, so its possible.

hasn't this been a theory for a long time, the dharma project was a psych project with people keeping people in jail?

also, the airplane toy was so special to kate, does that mean she was a baby as part of the project once? or has that been explained previously

that was explained. The toy airplane belonged to Kate's childhood sweetheart. The one whos death she is responsible for.

OK my wheels are really spinning now. What if all the back stories we've been seeing were some sort of implanted memories and none of it really happened. That really makes some things seem strange. The plane does keep showing up in odd places doesn't it...

so is the "vaccine" the same stuff the original hatch guy was taking?

good episode.

I think claire might have given the baby an infected booty...they lingered on him chewing on it for a bit too long.

I really do not like what they are doing to his character at all lately. He was always the metaphysical one, the one who seemed to know something that the rest didn't. Now he just stays down in the hatch pressing the button.

Locke would have also had more patience for Charlie and hist dreans/visions about baptising the baby.

He also would be exploring the island more. He was obsessed with the hatch when he was digging it up and when he opened it. You would think that he would want to travel further down the rabbit hole, and learn more about the island.

Well, I thought this was a car audio thread! :(

"LOST 2 x 15" in audio-speak means: "I removed two, 15" subwoofers from my vehicle."

I was immediately interested b/c obviously (so I thought) you had MORE than two, 15" subs!

This was impressive.

But alas; I discover that you're talking about a fictitious, unbelievable show that is popular with the under-25 crowd.

Sadness covers me like a blanket of fog.

My Take: The two pieces of beard symbolized the two Others that he killed. After confessing his sins he could remove them.

yah, the psych thing is pretty much the more obvious of the possible underlying themes...I called that half way through season 1, basically cause it reminds me of psych experiments run in the past..THe Others being doctors really makes this a strong front-runner for what's going on there if you ask me.

but hte purgatory idea: Think about this, all the characters have some sort of foil/flaw in their characters.....shannon was self-centered, couldn't love, etc. , boone never seemed to be very brave, etc. As soon as they overcome those things (shannon falling for syed, boone venturing into that airplane) they die, and are removed from the island. Dharma has to do with the Buddhist religion as well, not sure if someone's already covered this.

What character flaws do the remaining cast members have? How does this explain the numbers? What about Locke and his walking? Your theory has more holes than swiss cheese.
