Next week looks pretty killer...today's was pretty tame by Lost standards.
I thought it was easily the best episode of this season....every other episode was them trapsing through the jungle trying to get home with no real plot progress.
But honestly the cloud of smoke thing....it's like they're crossing over from believable fiction and some sort of Earthly bizarre explanation for the island into the realm of extreme fantasy......I hope that black smoke thing has some sort of explanation that's not too outlandish.....like maybe the machine noises are some sort of system to produce the smoke...but the people in it...that was just freaky.
Note: Is anyone else seeing that the 'mysteries' on the Island aren't part of some plan the writers have? Everyone gets that they're just making this stuff up as they go along with no real direction, that's why nothing ever gets solved or anything like that...not because of plot development, but because the writers don't have a fvcking clue where to go with the show
This is totaly BS. It's obvious this show is slow paced. I mean come on it's in its 2nd season. I don't doubt the writers have alot material that yet has to be seen. People kick and screen because plots get confusing and complicated. They want it all to make sense. But what is the fun of that when there's no end of the show in sight. I would at least hold off to your ridiculous comments until the season finale.

moving slow isn't an excuse for having a rudderless plot. It's not that it has to make sense, but it looks like the writers are just trying to keep coming up with random stuff, and hoping fan boys will just scream that anyone who doesn't like the schlock isn't 'cultured' or has 'ADD'. Having said that, last night's episode was interesting to me. However, the show doesn't really seem to be moving forward at all this season.

there are like a dozen characters that the writers are trying to develop all at once.
i still don't see how this series has a "rudderless plot". the story speeds up and slows down at times to tell stories or to reveal more mysteries of the island. i really don't understand what people's expecations are with this show. if every loose end was tied up by the time the episode ended, the series would be pretty much over by now.

I don't think anybody's mentioned this, but Eko looked pretty dang cool with the cornrows. I wonder if the actor (Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje) had to grow a fro or if they used something else, because I doubt that he could have gotten cornrows with the amount of hair he currently has on.
<-- Knows very little about hair styling for black people.

I think they want it to be like CSI where every episode has a problem and a resolution, and then rinse and repeat 24 times. That kind of sh*t is incredibly boring though, IMO.

even more than just resolutions and endings, i would think the AT crowd would appreciate a story line that wasn't perfectly linear and predictable. i thoroughly enjoy the little "detours" the story takes to tell a backstory to develop particular characters' relationships.

LOST has been a little slower this season but they seem to be trying to flesh out the characters a little more, and their relationships. I'm gonna be optimistic and assume they've got a plan and will wow us at the end of the season. I liked last night's episode. WE got some more about echo and charlie as well as a hint about kate/sawyer/jack/ana, the monster and walt/mike. Something bis is coming.
The screen said something about "you have to come" is it just me or does anyone else doubt it's walt on the other end?

The screen actually cut off either after the "n" in con, or half of the "m" in com. My wife thinks it is "You have to come (get me?)" while I think it may be "You have to convince (them to..)" Maybe to stop pushing the button?

that was my next point...each episode stands alone, it doesn't really depend on past episodes a lot of the time. The major plot lines are solved in season, there's no real extended story arc.

the mystery that was revealed of Ecko was great to watch, imo.
I loved seeing him pick up Charlie like a ragdoll![]()
i thought he was holding up Charlie by the neck, off the ground...but Charlie didn't seem to be choking or straining.
btw, what happened to the black smoke/monster after it and Mr. Ecko were face to face? the TV went crazy and when it came back on, it was commericial. did it just evaporate? zoom away?
