ok did anyone see the clip from next week's show where they show mike, sawyer and jin being thrown into a cage dug out of the ground?

it looks like the person throwing mike into the cage is a roughed-up version of mike.

this reminds me of that other thread where someone posted about everyone having their own doppleganger and what would happen if they met theirs or something.

has anyone noticed that the symbol within the logo (the logo is the whole hexagon thing) is different each time? it seems i saw one that looked like a snake or a goose neck (basically a curvey shape) and then the one on the shark looks like a bar... i'd liek to see what's on the bear..

do you think the timer releases an animal each time, unless it's reset? and maybe after a couple times, desmond had reset it, cause he had released the shark and the polar bear? maybe like that one star trek:ng episode where that defense system launches a new, more improved drone each time one is defeated?

when locke was questioning desmond, he asked how long he's been there, did he answer?

My bet is that, like the Matrix, there will be hundreds of ultra-cool and slick theories and explanations, but in the end, also like the Matrix, the "conclusion" will be utterly lame and worthless, making everyone wonder why they spent so much time worrying about it.

I think the island has a self destruct mechanism that must be reset every 108 hours. Desmond works for the logo company is there to reset it. He is awaiting his replacement ("are you him?"). The island above ground is a petri dish. The others are survivors of prior experiments.

I get the feeling sometimes that the writers don't know where they are going with everything, and are just thinking of crazy stuff to have happen, and eventually it will all fall under some big conspiracy that doesn't really make sense. I hope not, though.

Sorry to respond so late, but I watched the ep before I slept yesterday...and I agree, the final minute and preview was better than the rest of the entire episode.

Although I don't mind having Evangeline crawling through the vents all sweaty.

alarms wasn't cause of jack-- it was cause desmond had to "check in" on the computer. note how relieved he was when the timer went back up.... it's like he has to sit there and check in every so often. with whom, we don't know...
