lost 2 hours of work in word

for some reason, autorecover did not work. the file is fairly large (~9mb because of images), and i wonder if this is the reason i'm having difficulty.

i tried looking in the folder where word autosaves files, but i came up blank. there were other files there, as well as old versions of the file, but not what i was looking for.

i would really love some help here guys...
