loss of conectivity after an hour or so

so I'm having a problem with my pc -> after using fire fox about an hour my browser does not load and then I get the cannot find... message and I open up IE and that cannot connect connect on that either. I lose my Xfire and AIM connection and have to restart to get connectivity back - its doing this even after I have updated my network driver for my MB. I have Microsoft's new spyware beta tool running all the time and that is the only big change that I can think of that has happened in the last couple of days - no viruses and spyware on the system after searching. ANY HELP?

I'm guessing your modem is having issues.

Have you tried leaving the PC on, but restarting/resetting the modem?

ok- sorry I don't think it is my modem because I just restart and eveything is fine - but will reset it just in case

Hmm, it happens to me, but it's when i'm downloading a torrent.
After a while I can't load websites, but the torrent runs fine.

I thought I was using all my upload speed, but after cranking it down to almost nothing it still happens.

No for me its a total dropout even when I'm just surfing the web and then I have to restart to get connectivity back
