Losing your belief in love

After you live with someone for over a year, get engaged, and out of nowhere they are demanding to go to a bus-stop around midnight and nothing is ever the same again...

How do you still believe in love? I don't want to change as a person, but now the thought of weddings disgusts me...When people say they are in love I think to myself, "go ahead and think that retard. You'll learn better too."

Is there anything you can do with your mindset? Or is it one of those things where you have to wait and let time and maybe someone else convince you it is real again?

Time wounds all heels...

no wait.

Time heals all wounds. There we go.

It's mostly true. You'll never forget but you do get to a point where you can accept and move on and eventually be happy. Unless, of course, you fall into a vat of self-induced misery and spiral down into the well of drunken stupor.

Time heals all wounds!

It took me six months to get over a bad relationship, I was being used, before I was even ready to date. I wasn't even looking for a girl friend when I met my wife.

I'm sorry. I cannot post a comment to someone with such a low post count.

I think the intimation is that they up and leave out of nowhere.

If they leave, then they weren't the one for you anyway, so try not to fret over them too much, they just are not worth your time. :) Life will go on, and you will meet someone wonderful.

And if not, you can get a lot of cats, and pretend they are all your friends. ;)

I think that too!! Whenever someone talks about it, I just imagine their breakup, throwing things at each other, doing the most to hurt each other and what not.
