Ok, this is a new one for me...
I recently had to start from scratch after a HDD failure
. I put in a SATA PCI card and a SATA drive. I am running XP Pro. I have also since installed an ATI 9500 Pro, and a SB Audigy 2 ZS sound card. When I finally got back around to installing my games again I noticed something very frustrating. When I am trying to play the games (or even loading the all of the splash screens and credits), the window will lose its focus and I will have to hit the Maximize icon in the top right of the screen to resume play. It seems to do this quite often. My video and sound card drivers are up to date. I have tried to shut down all the programs running in the system tray, but to no avail.
On a side note, I have also noticed that my screen saver does not come on all the time. It is like something is active even if I am not using the computer.
I can give you all the specs if needed, but I do not think they will be necessary. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
