Losing Volume Control icon on startup.

Several of the taskbar icons next to the clock won't load at startup. The programs load, just not the icon. Speedfan is one....program starts but no icon.

Really annoying.....particularly with the volume icon. If I load the programs after the OS (XP Pro SP2), the icons display normal, but I cannot get this to happen automatically. This happens on XP without any service pack updates also.

There must be a setting somewhere that does this....help?
