I have a 18.6 gig scsi HD as my D: drive. When I tally up the folders it shows as 6.5 gig. When I look at drive properties it shows as 10.5 gig. I have disk indexing off, system restore monitoring is off, hibernation is off. What gives??

Yes I did that. RECYCLER 18kb, System Volume Information 0kb, downloads 6.5GB. There is nothing else visible. I also am showing all operating system files but this is all that is there.

Go into Disk Management, in the Computer Management tool in Administrative Tools. See whether the disk is showing the entire drive space used by partitions.
