Losing faith in NFL

Brandon Marshal caught a pass for a TD. As you could guess... he was excited. It snowed in Denver for the last few days, so when he ran past the endzone he tossed some snow up in the air. He was called for unsportsmanlike conduct for "taking a prop and throwing it". Snow is not a FUCKING PROP, and he wasn't an ass about it either. What happened to fun? Biggest bullshit call I've seen this year. I hope the official that called that dies in a fire.

i agree, they need to relax with the celebration penalties, some of those are funny as hell. After all, the game is entertainment. Let us be entertained from time to time.

A few weeks ago the Packers team got a letter or talking to from the league because BEFORE their kickoffs, the people on the field get in a circle and just jump around to get pumped up. The NFL said they aren't supposed to celebrate like that.

Hello? It's BEFORE the kickoff...

Glad to see they are still doing it. F the NFL. They can fine people all they want and they'll still keep paying them far more than they're worth.

Yeah that was pretty lame. He went and did it behind the Broncos sideline after his last TD lol. I was laughing at that.

GO BRONCOS!

We are dismantling the Cheifs.... 41 to 7.

Any penalty that is disrespectful to the other team, players, or fans, I can see being penalized, but the NFL has gone overboard.

I thought this thread was going to be about poor calls, because I'm losing faith in the ability of the refs to call a decent game. There are so many bad calls every week and I feel that little is being done by the NFL.

A couple weeks ago Larry Johnson took a flag from somebody near the endzone and waved it around and then stuck it in the ground after he scored.

A few days later he was fined by the league for the same reason.

Lame.

Just be thankful. No matter what happens, it's still a spectacle of grown men acting butch and rubbing up against each other.

The Broncos played one of the best games they've played all year as well though - that didn't help you guys.

Yeah, if only they could play that way consistently I'd be a happy(ier) guy.

Fixed

Nah. Just act like you've been there before and you'll be back shortly. Seriously some of these guys act like they did the impossible. Act confident and simple. Hand the ball to the ref and head back to the sidelines.

While I think some of the celebration penalties and fines are excessive, I do wish more players were like Jim Brown and Barry Sanders, who just handed the ball to the ref and went about their business. Some of these guys act like they won the superbowl every time they make a play.

They need to allow more celebrations because the NFL is such a dangerous sport you never know if you will get there again due to injury.

No Fun League indeed. The whole "act like you've been there before" thing is ok, but being happy about a score should be perfectly acceptable. Throwing some snow up in the air should not be penalized.

Maybe the NFL should focus less on post-TD minutia and work on getting some full-time refs, ones that can actually use the technology available in an effective manner to call a game decently.
