First, let me say that I'm not sure if this would be a networking issue, or an OS issue... I decided to start here.
I have 2 PCs (Thing1 and Thing2...names have been changed to protect the innocent 😛), both running Windows Home Premium.
On Thing1 I created a directory right off the root of C: called \Thing1-Shared (C:\Thing1-Shared)... enabled all file sharing etc setting that I could find.
From Thing2.. I can see, attach, and access \\Thing1\Thing1-Shared without issue, but only for little bit... after awhile the share just stops responding.
At that point the only solution is to reboot Thing1.
Then it will work fine again... for a little bit.
I can't seem to figure out what is causing the share to stop responding... any ideas?
Thanks in advance.
Edit... I should probably add that I also lose connection to the shared printer... and that Thing1 doesn't lose any functionality when this occurs. (i.e. internet still works.. it can still print (local printer)) etc.
