Losing battery charge?

I have IBM x31 and whenever I turn on my laptop I notice the battery meter isn't where it was when I shut off. Is that normal? The battery meter shows I have less battery. Is the battery losing its charge? I still have warranty on the battery.
 
how long are you leaving it off and how much charge are you loosing? if you are loosing a lot and you arent leaving it off for too long, then there is a problem. if you are only looosing a little or only a little per day left off then you are fine.
 
Try "flushing" the battery. Running it full down to 0 to the point where the laptop won't react even when you press the power button. Then recharge it back up. If it happens from there pursue going through IBM with the warranty replacement.
 
it is normal for the battery to slowly lose charge. But that's usally over weeks and not hours. You should run the battery down completely, and recharge to reset the battery.
