Any ideas? I get 5-6 minutes of playback before the sound starts to lag behind. I'm using PowerDVD Ultra (bundled with my HD DVD / Bluray drive). E5200 @ 3.24Ghz, 4Gb, 4890, XP Pro.

I don't think VLC supports HDDVD or BR.

I would try WinDVD op. It has HDDVD support natively so you don't have to do any silly hacks like with PDVD.

He have to buy WinDvD,
On other hand Power Dvd came with free.
Power Dvd 7.3 Ultra what he have does not require any hacks.
It natively HD DvD and Blu Ray.

I bet CyberLink invokes a lag remotely so that you will decide to upgrade their product.

I used PowerDVD a while back and, after using it some months, the audio started to lag the video by 1 full second. That was under Win 98 at the time.

Ever since that aggravation I switched to Intervideo's WinDVD.

What a non sense.
He does not need to upgrase or shell out any money.
He just create a Ticket and solution will be avaible to him.

Maybe a better idea is to uninstall PowerDVD and replace it with the free vlc media player.

That's what I did. I used to have PowerDVD and got rid of it.
VLC is so capable, versatile and easy (and free).

You don't play Bluray or HD DVDs. ;)

I do have VLC.

Thanks for the ideas everyone -- I sent a support request to Cyberlink.

No response from Cyberlink. I downloaded the latest update (90mb!) and I still have the same problem.

Any recommendations on other software I can use? If I have to pay, so be it..

WinDVD doesn't play HD DVD..just Bluray.

I'll try PowerDVD again when I install Windows 7..hopefully it'll fix itself.

Ah, cool. If PowerDVD doesn't work right when I change over to 7, I'll have to take a look at that. Thanks!

Of course he does. 7.3 is utter shit. He would need a later version. "Just create a tickect and a magic fairly will fix your problem", research my brother, do some research.

Especially since they still haven't responded to my email..

I'll try it again when I get 7..if it works, great. If not, I'll look for something else.

Fresh installation on Windows 7 Pro, same problem.

WTF.

I'm going to try AnyDVD HD and see if I can just rip them all. That might be easier.

For anyone having the same issue, I submitted another ticket, finally got a response, and was given an ftp link to download a file "LG-ODD.4617_TaRe38_DVD081016-07". Problem solved! :D

Already tried powerDVD 7 and ArcSoft TotalMedia Theater 3. Identical problems. Judging by your thread, looks like it's a thing with LG drives?
