Hi

I used to have a SoundBlaster 5.1 , in my old gaming Rig.

I used to be able to raise Vcore to 1.65v and increase FSB to 148. I used to run CPU, at 3.4 with no worries at all. It was very stable, with Prime95.

I sold my soundcard, and went to onboard AC97 sound. Now when i try to overclock beyond 3.33 145 FSB, i lose sound.

When, i keep it at 3.33GHZ, i still get sound, but its very poor. I have updated the latest drivers, and still can't get beyond 145FSB.

Can you help??

Is your PCI bus speed locked at 33MHz? It looks like that is what is killing you if not. If you don't (or can't) lock the PCI bus down, when you raise FSB you raise PCI speed. Many onboard components can't operate when overclocked, often it is IDE controllers but sometimes sound chips are affected, too.
