A Large Portion of Los Angeles has lost power. Some dumbass Employee re-connected some wires incorrectly and caused a power surge.

Not when you're in an elevator, just recalling the huge blackout 2 decades or so ago. Either way I live there but I work in Orange, no power loss here.

I left work because of the blackout (lost all my work on the comp too). Now I'm home (20 mins away) and we're fine here.
