I create an account here in the USA, then move to Australia taking my equipment with me and get cable internet while down under.

Would people be able to call my USA phone number and I could receive calls for free while living in Australia?

As far as I know, yes... AND you can call all over the US and Canada for free. You just need access to broadband wherever you go. I know that many people have done it with vonage.

Disclaimer: I can't say with 100% certainty, because I haven't done it myself.
