Los Angeles Lakers

I am a Los Angeles Lakers fan. I've lived in LA my whole life and grew up watching the lakers with my dad. Because of that, i never realized two things:

1. The Lakers are the most loved NBA franchise even outside of LA

and

2. The Lakers are the most hated NBA franchise

This conundrum is odd, I admit, but I firmly believe it to be true. Being in LA for so long, you just assume everyone here is a lakers fan and everyone else outside of LA is a fan of their team. But the more you see and hear the more you realize the Lakers really do get more attention paid to them, both good and bad.

So here is the OFFICIAL LA LAKERS POLL on ATOT.

There's not enough nuance. My statement would be, "I like the Lakers this year because of what they have accomplished, but hated them when they had kobe and shaq because of all the primadonna behavior"

That's interesting. Maybe not a big enough catergory for the poll, but I really find that an interesting take on the Lakers, thanks for sharing that view.

I enjoyed LA when they had Shaq (in his prime), now I think they're underachievers that just stand around and watch the Kobe chucking show. Big time underachievers as displayed after the playoffs started.

I love the Lakers, have since as far as I can remember (I'm 30 now), and I live outside LA. Of course my Dad was born and raised in LA so I grew up liking the teams he liked, which is why I'm a Laker fan. I'd say I'm a much bigger Laker fanatic than he is now though. I never miss a game. Even flew down to LA in 2004 for game three against the Spurs after they were already down 0-2.

That's what i'm talkin' about! Rock on

I hate all the teams in the western conference, except lakers and warriors. West Siiiiiiiiiide.

after spending 5 years in LA, when kobe and shaq won all their titles. I can say I don't like the Lakers. And after moving out of LA, I still don't! Its not hate, but I would cheer for the Clippers before I do the Lakers.

Go Warriors!

Even though I said what I said above, notice that I'm absent from every Lakers/Suns series thread here on ATOT. That's because I realize how much people hate the Lakers and I'd rather not get in silly Internet arguments over it. I keep 99% of my Laker conversations to Laker forums (except for this post, obviously), because I'd rather not argue with people over sports. Now, in the past I used to argue on ATOT with people about the Lakers, but then I realized it isn't worth it (along with arguing with people over the Internet in general).
