A few friends and I want to go out drinking today. about 4-5 of us and i think all girls except me so a club is not needed no one is trying to hook up with anyone. We want somewhere new we have not been to before.

I am looking for a cool Lounge type of place, nice atmosphere, music, with people between 21-30. Don't want it too small and cramped, don't want it too dark and filled with smoke or anything.
Must be in the LA area, The Valley, Ventura blvd, Hollywood, Sunset.

Oh also we would prob be arriving at any place we go around 10pm tonight and e ven though it is a Sunday tomorrow is a holiday and seating is a must.

Any ideas?!?!

i was trying to think of a place to go too tonight

west side maybe liquid kitty (very dark, decently loud music, expensive but very strong drinks (1 $12 Long island and you will be wasted), or The Arsenal just down the street and more laid back(get there early if you want a seat though) both on Pico.

Otherwise you could try Main street (a bunch of irish pubs and The other room are all good, and if you dont like one there are plenty more within walking distance)

if you want a view of the ocean try Moonshadows ( they may have changed the name) http://losangeles.citysearch.com/profile/139252 ...but u basically can sit over the ocean with waves breaking beneath you.

oh college bars on the westside, you have westwood brewing company (just sit down and talk and drink beer) or O'mally's (until recently Maloneys, but there the music is so loud you cant hear anything

dive bar I would suggest The Cozy on washington and sepulveda...shuffle board table, darts, pools table, cheap drinks, but sketchy people

trying not to go further than Sunset (we live int he valley, Mission Hills, Encino, etc) since we do not have a designated driver lol. These girls are fun but they are picky about where they do =\ it can't be dark, dank, with sketchy ppl lol. Moonshadows sounds nice and looks nice but how hard would it be to get in anyway? However I think it is too far for us tonight but i can try running it by them.

Velvet is also extremely close to The Room and The Burgandy Room, both cool dives. The Burgandy Room can be huge fun if the right crowd shows up. Good juke box too.:D:beer:

All bars and restaraunts in California are smoke free so you don't have to worry about that.

Where exactly are you staying? Los Angeles is a big city...best to give an approximate location so we could give some decent advice. Suggesting something downtown when you're staying in Marina Del Rey would be a bad idea.

Sorry, I just skimmed through the thread. You know how it is here then...why are you asking us?

I'm not very familiar with the Valley. I've been there a bunch of times but it's been years and other than the general layout and how to get around I really couldn't help you out on where to take someone for drinks.

well i was asking because i don't go out THAT often and when we do we normally go to the same places and they wanted to go somewhere new.

we ended up going to Saints & Sinners in Culver City, was small and really nice, the decor was cool and the bartenders friendly, was 80's night but they played weird 80's lol
