Just thought i'd give this game a quick mention.

Friend of mine recently pointed it out to me and have been playing for 2 days.

Its a browser based strategy game, similar to Tribal Wars / Evony that sort of thing... Both of which i've played for a while, but then got bored with, usually because of the need to use micro transactions which i wouldnt ever do.

Usual deal, build up city, expand, join alliances, wage huge scale wars, merge alliances, wage war against ppl who used to be allies will ensue i'm sure :D

Currently is in 'Open Beta' but seems fairly polished, i'll be playing and keeping an eye on it.

Yes it's a reincarnation of the Ultima world as a browser game, which i'm sure some ppl will view as a crime against humanity - but i'm not here to debate that. just posting for those of you that like this type of game and i'm sure it'll be worth checking out :)

I see the feasting on the corpse of the Ultima games is still going on.

Like i said... its a crime against humanity, i'm sure Ultima's (the game...) feelings are really hurt by this game... ooh wait its just a name of a game so it doesn't actually matter one bit.

From what I've heard it isn't anything to due with the Ultima games besides the name. So, the name does, in fact, matter. If Activision released a game called "Lords of Warcraft" that had nothing to do with Warcraft universe, I think it would be a big deal. They are, at least in part, hoping the game will get looked at by people who played anything in the Ultima series.

Now, I haven't played this game, but I have a feeling (being browser based) it isn't very good at all.

I dont think any1 will play this game for more than 1minute if they are expecting a new version of Ultima Online.

The name is just a name... think its been a pretty long time since Ultima Online was a popular game to play.

Also just because its browser based, doesnt instantly make it a bad game - this does not mean it wont be a bad game! lol

From playing Tribal Wars and Evony (BOOBS! lol) in the past, these type of strategy games can be really fun. Was in a top Alliance in Evony for a while and its good fun, waging MASSIVE scale wars against other top alliances. All the planning, resource management, attack strategies etc. The fact that u can keep an eye on the game from any pc, and it just takes a min to check orders, add to build list etc. makes the games pretty kool to play at work :p When u can't be playing a 'proper' game... that probably adds to their appeal :)
