I saw the movie, and I thought it was GREAT!! it's a very very unique movie, and I like his brother's character. Even though he was "messed up" in a sense, in the end ...
***spoilers***
he was always the good one.
The movie was truly unique, and probably not everyone can accept it since it's not your traditional type of movie. I couldn't for a second could not tell what's going to happen next. I could not predict the ending at all.
It is a movie where you actually root for the bad guy; the bad guy being the heroine. In the end you realize that you've been rooting for the badguy, and want him to change, but he doesn't, he's a badguy afterall. So you get this sort of giulty pleasure in rooting for this truly evil person, because now you see how an evil guy can act evil; you understand why he can be so corrupt and bad. You get mixed feelings about the evil guy at the end, but you rooted for him anyways, because you understand him as a character, and understand why he's so damn evil.
Great character development on the main character.
The movie is probably not for everyone, but I really loved the movie. It's really a one-of-a-kind movie, not-your-traditional movie.
The movie was marketed wonderfully, as it's marketted as a con-artist type dark comedy thriller movie, but in the end the movie changes and it's not like that. I can't agree more w/ ebert and roper.
As for JustLikeHeaven, that movie is predictable just looking @ the previews. It's probably garbage compared to this movie, but then again, I've yet to see it yet.
