Yeah, it should show the average score the reviewers gave it, not the percentage who liked it and the percentage who didn't. I think some reviewers put negative reviews of good movies just to get noticed as the lone rotton tomatoe on RT.

Meh, saw it tonite. The problem with this movie is that it tries to be too much at once. During the first 1/3 its purely dark comedy, then it becomes more of a drama, and the last 1/3 is pure Greek tragedy. The pacing was off. The narration by Nick Cage, while brilliant at times, was a bit too dry for the subject matter--it worked for the comedic parts but later just seemed out of place. But on the whole it was thoroughly enjoyable and probably better than most of the movies out now. I'd say go see it.

Oh...and for some reason, I thought the actress playing Nick Cage's wife was an older Shannon Elizabeth from 'American Pie', but it is Bridget Moynihan (didn't even remember who she was--forgot about "I, Robot" and "The Recruit".)

I saw the movie, and I thought it was GREAT!! it's a very very unique movie, and I like his brother's character. Even though he was "messed up" in a sense, in the end ...

***spoilers***

he was always the good one.

The movie was truly unique, and probably not everyone can accept it since it's not your traditional type of movie. I couldn't for a second could not tell what's going to happen next. I could not predict the ending at all.

It is a movie where you actually root for the bad guy; the bad guy being the heroine. In the end you realize that you've been rooting for the badguy, and want him to change, but he doesn't, he's a badguy afterall. So you get this sort of giulty pleasure in rooting for this truly evil person, because now you see how an evil guy can act evil; you understand why he can be so corrupt and bad. You get mixed feelings about the evil guy at the end, but you rooted for him anyways, because you understand him as a character, and understand why he's so damn evil.

Great character development on the main character.

The movie is probably not for everyone, but I really loved the movie. It's really a one-of-a-kind movie, not-your-traditional movie.

The movie was marketed wonderfully, as it's marketted as a con-artist type dark comedy thriller movie, but in the end the movie changes and it's not like that. I can't agree more w/ ebert and roper.

As for JustLikeHeaven, that movie is predictable just looking @ the previews. It's probably garbage compared to this movie, but then again, I've yet to see it yet.

saw it today during lunch... it was great. will def buy on DVD when it comes out.

there were a few times when you knew something was going to happen and you really really didn't want it to happen, but it did.

it's easy to root for Cage when everything was superficial. but when it was broken down into human terms, you started not to like him much.

I saw it opening day...between LoW and The Constant Gardener, there have finally been some GREAT films hitting theaters. I have some complaints about the movie, sure...but they're not that bad.

And not to defend the movie since I haven't seen it, but Ebert liked "Just Like Heaven" too :p

RT seems backwards for me most of the time. If a movie has low ratings on there, I generally tend to like it. If it has high ratings, it generally tends to suck.

I saw Lord of War and The Constant Gardner last weekend. LOW = good, yet low rating. TCG = boring, yet high rating.

One of the better films this year.

I am tired of seeing the same old predictable crap.

i have no want to see this movie at all. Nicholas Cage is a horrible actor IMO. He cannot show emotions to save his life. Not to mention, his monotone voice just bores the hell outta me. The only movie I liked him in was The Rock because he played a scared pvssy dork.

2nded!!!

if anyone doesn't believe this, watch 8mm...especially the scene where he is asking for permission from the mother to kill her daughter's murderer...that has to be the worst acting job of all time....
