Lord of Ultima

Just got an email from EA or something about a close beta invite for Lord of Ultima.... this is my first time hear about this game....Has anyone heard of it?

Strange... I thought EA was contractually obligated to obtain Richard Garriott's approval before they could do another Ultima game.. pretty sure this isn't something he would sign off on.

Edit: Hmm, looks like other than the name, it has absolutely nothing to do with the Ultima series of games.

EA owns the rights to the Ultima series. They do not need permission to make new Ultima games. Garriot owns the rights to the name Lord British.

EA has had two different failed attempts at making a new online Ultima game since Garriot left OSI/EA.

I've been messing around on it for the last hour or so. It's not an ultima game, don't think it is or you will just lead yourself to disappointment. However it is a very polished and well done ikariam/tribal wars style game- at least based on my first hour playing. If you want a fun little casual game you can play during your lunch break at work, this might be it.
