I know that there are some of you who were sort of on the fence with LOTRO. Well recently Turbine announced a Refer a friend, play for free program. What you do is sign up and you get to play the game for free for 10 days. If, at the end of the 10 days, you like the game, you get to play for $10/month, which is what a founder (which I am) pays. The details can be found here. If you're interested, send me a forum PM with an e-mail address and I'll hook you up.

EDIT 8/14/07: I have no more keys to give out. Sorry. Check this thread anyway, as there are others who have been gracious to put their names up here for referrals.

Yeah I gave one out yesterday to someone here.

I will offer some as well if anyone want ones as I think you can only have 5 unactivated keys open at one time.

Same deal, PM me your e-mail address. :)

Cheers,
KT

PS: Sentrosi, what server are you on?

Sentrosi2121, I sent you a PM. By the way (sorry to go off topic) can anyone suggest a good web site for newbs to help them get up and running? Thanks.

I can also offer out some keys; but mine will be founder eligible keys so I'd like to give them to those that are more likely to subscribe for those offers.

[Note, I haven't read all the details yet on my 10 person limit so my terms are subject to change ]

I'd like to try it out. I'm getting pretty bored of the level 70 rep grind in WoW and would like something a bit more story driven.

So you need to use a founder eligible key to get the founder price? if i was to go to Bestbuy and pick up a copy of the game, i wouldn't be eligible?

Also, if you use a founder trial key, and then buy the game, do you still get free one month trial?

I'd love to try it for 10 days free, I even went to far as to contact turbine lol, but I don't want anyone to be upset at me if I don't enjoy the game and decide not to continue.

Anyone who still has a key, I would like to try it out. So I'm not sure who has any left or not.

Correct, as a special thing for current founders if you get a key from them and then subscribe you will get the founder pricing of $10/$200.

About the free month, I'm not sure. Some MMOs still give it while others don't and I haven't read anything about Turbines policy.

Heads up, starting today (and ending after august), 60 free days of gameplay (instead of 30) to anyone who buys the retail game.

and Keith is the man!
