Saw some pics of the Return of the King Extended Edition Gift Set. 50 minutes of new footage in the EE. The collectible in the gift set will be a polystone minature of Minas Tirith.

It's to bad that 40 of those 50 minutes will just be more wrapping up of the ending. I got the 1st gift set, but passed on the 2nd. This one looks like it will be worth the extra cash.

Me too. The Argonath was amazing. Passed on Gollum. Need Minas Tirith

I've wanted to see the extended versions of FotR and TTT, but I'm not really sure RotK needed to be any longer than it was. I loved the movie, but I wouldn't have complained if some of the scenes at the end had been cut. I know they were important to remain faithful to the book, but nonetheless...

Anyway, I'll probably pick up an EE box set if they have one that is reasonably priced.

Yeah, normal EE will do it for me, too. The last one nearly killed me with the endings, theatrically. I was already feeling an urgent need to relieve myself just after they took care of the ring... and when I finally said "FOR THE LOVE OF GOD JUST END ALREADY!" and ran to the bathroom, it was, naturally, about 5-7 minutes before the final final end.

same. The Gollum statue just seemed so stupid (wasn't a big Gollum fan to begin with). I'll probably buy this one, though.
