I refuse to see that anywhere but the theater first. I know it''s gonna kick ass and I want the best possible first viewing I can get.

Who would be stupid enough not to witness the movie in a theater? You are getting millions of dollars worth of work for less than $10. Sounds like a kick-ass deal too me.

Heck, I'm surprised it took this long. With a movie this big, it's only logical that copies will start popping up all around. Fortunately, the fan base and the overall excitement that has been generated will not be greatly affected. And think about it...will most people want to see something as majestic as LOTR being played on a small computer screen with a crappy picture and sound? American Pie II, probably, but not LOTR. :)

this is the first movie I'm really really anticipating. Star wars was not even close.

Not that I could dl it if I wanted to (dial-up), but I really don't understand the appeal of crappy video/audio quality.

Maybe I'm spoiled watching DVD's on a Wega, but divx just plain sucks in comparison.

Same here. I have a nice Home Theater setup that I recently got. Some of my friends (including some of my housemates) tend to prefer d/l these crappy mpeg and divx rips of movies. I can't stand the horrible quality most of these are, especially the vidcam in a theater rips. Guess people just like getting things for free even if the quality is horrible.

And about the LOTR theft. I heard that they had the rips on the net a few days before the world premier in England. Sad sad world.

Supposedly, they shot all three at the same time, right?

Have they edited the other two yet? I'd be surprised if they have. Seems like those would get leaked way before their releases if they've allready finished them.

And for the questions of who would pirate it? Someone mildly interested in seeing it. Not everyone thinks this movie is god's gift to theaters...

Huh? People here dont like pirated things? I cant believe there is a thread about how everyone pirates every piece of software under the sun and have no qualms about it, and here is a thread where people are bashing others that pirated a new movie. How come no one says, "I'd like to get my hands around the neck of the guy that pirated Windows XP"

Thanks for making it so clear.

It does appear to be on morpheus, and the donkey. Though, they may be the animated version.

<< WHat kind of rat bastard would download this? >>

hehe, I think we should change kami's title to "Defender of the LOTR" ;)
