Lord of the Ring: Two Towers is already on dvd

Wow, I can't believe this. I saw the first one on cable and it was absolutely beautiful. I'd planned on seeing the second one in the theatres. But it's too late now. Anyone knows when the third installation is coming out? Is it still possible to see The Two Towers in a movie theatre?

Best Buy's having some promotion...sign up in their parking lot from 10:30-11:30 to win stuff, and then they're selling the DVD at midnight til 1, and first 150 people get a goodie-bag...

Dunno if I'm going yet 🙂

Uh, it's been 9 months. the third one should be out in november.

Good, I'll put that on my to-do list. I'm bad at stuff like this. In 2001, I promised myself I'd get a new car. Two years later, I'm just ending my research. I plan on visiting the dealerships soon.

is this the extended version or will that come later?

which version should I get? or should I just wait for a trilogy pack?

I don't understand how anyone could wait for the trilogy pack. I bought FOTR when it came out, I will be buying TTT when it comes out, and then ROTK when it comes out as well .. THEN once the trilogy cmoes out, I will purchase that as well.

"Is it still possible to see The Two Towers in a movie theatre? "

I'm sure there will be theaters showing all 3 movies once LOTR:Reurn of Kings is released.

FOTR and TTT are supposedly being re-released to theaters in early December, 2 weeks before the initial release of ROTK. These will be the extended versions, with the extra 25-30 minutes of footage added to the extended DVDs.

I'm grabbing mine at midnight or at some point during the day tomorrow.

I really don't care about the extended edition, as that was not the movie that was shown in the theatre. That, and I never watch all the extras anyways.

When is extended version coming out? I am waiting for that.

EDIT - Nevermind, November 18 accrding to their official site.

SWEET just picked it up! getting ready to watch it 😀

I picked it up early today & watched it, awesome IMO, I can't wait till the 3rd installment!!!

My mom's memory is really getting bad (she's only 45 too). She keeps forgetting she bought the FOTR DVD, so she buys another one... so far, she and my dad have 3 FOTR DVD packages (various versions and varying numbers of discs per version) and 1 VHS version. I shudder to think what will happen now that LOTR:TTT is out on DVD...

What, you won't watch a movie if it's not what the Suits want you to watch?

I LOVE deleted scenes incorporated into a movie, it shows you what the director's vision for the film was instead of the tight-fisted studio execs' vision.

Also, I never watch extras either, but I popped on the extras disc for LOTR:FOTR and I was hooked. Couldn't stop watching it. Must've stayed up till 4-5AM. It gives you an idea of the vast scale of the production, as well as how all the cast interacted with each other. Definitely adds a more human element to the film once you watch it again.
