Men! their obession to have constant control of the TV remote, lol, and if they have several devices control of all of the remotes in the house, nothing funnier than watching a dude clutching a handful of remotes like they were the holy grail or something.

Hehehe, men of earth in a constant quest for the master remote.. 'One remote to bind them all"? :D

Heh, One to bind them all. That would take the challenge out of it for sure. You should see the remote mongering at my house. I rarely see any of the 5 I have. In fact, I haven't bought my big screen yet because I know it will see more Oprah than it will football when I do. :)

If the man doesn't do that, the women immediately zaps to some crappy soap.
Or even worse, to an informercial! :Q

Anyway, I'm not the kind of guy who constantly wants a remote, as long as I got my computer to play with :p
Not liking (watching) sports helps there too.

Wha?! As I was posting this, my sister poked her head in and bopped me on the head for NO REASON! I swear the other half has some sort of private sub-ether communication ability....it's UNCANNY. :|

Its a conspiracy designed by men to allow men to have absolute power over electronic devices. Its commonly known that 2 or more remotes confuse and intimidate women, allowing men to watch TV in peace w/out being nagged to watch TV shows they don't want to watch.

EDIT:

That link sure gut nuked quick. Here's another.

It has two Mute buttons. Maybe for fault tolerance. Raid 1? Mirroring

it's so that when you button-mash because it's all going to hell you have more chances of hitting that mute button ;)

You know, ther ARE multifunction, touch screen remotes starting at $100 that will do everything those remotes do, right?

A good cheap one is the Sony AV-3000. It can be found online for about $115 delivered, and it does anything and everything those remotes do once you set it up.
