Just about every news source is reporting this - Looters are stealing and destroying museum collections, including their records. Iraq is the "cradle of civiliazation" and there were priceless artifacts for 5,000 years ago there. The US attack did no damage to the collections, but the looting afterwards has basically destroyed them.
That saddens me. It saddens me that people would do that (this sort of thing happens in some ways when a sports team wins a championship in the USA or Europe, so it isn't just Iraq).
I can understand stealing food, money, booze, etc. I could even understand stealing the contents of the museums. Smashing and destroying for no reason I cannot understand.
