Hi, I originally posted this in the motherboard section as i was having usb issues but my other usb device work since I updated my bios so im thinking this is an XP issue.

Im getting a strange problem with my webcam (Intel CS630). If I plug in the usb cable when xp is running then it works ok (xp find the cam and the web cam can be run). if i reboot then windows forgets i have a webcam. I have to physically unplug and replug in the usb cable again.

Anyone experienced this ?

my specs...

AMD Venice 3000
Lanparty UT nf4 ultra D
2*512 ocz Dual Channel Premier pc3200 ram
leadtek px6600 gt tdh Graphic card

Thanks

I have the same camera and had the same problem. I bought a powered USB hub and plugged the camera into it, for some reason the problem went away. I don't know why, but you may want to try it. The hubs are under $20 but I think you need the one with the power brick. Here is one.

PS If I remember correctly, you have to install the drivers on each port, If you install the camera on the far left of the 4 available and then move to one of the others, it gets confused.
