I switched over to a domain based network, then scraped the whole idea only to find out I still get the same problem.

My shared drives keep timing out, so it shows the X icon. When I go to doubleclick them it says the device is already used, so I have to wait a few minutes and retry until I can open each one and get rid of the X, then it does it again. It's a real piss off. Is there a way to stop this? It's freaken annoying.

The fileserver is a samba server on debian. This problem did not happen before the clean install.
