I've got a cable modem from 3COM and just a few days ago i bought a new mobo ASUS P4C800-E deluxe. The problem starts when i try to attempt conection with the internet and the settings just vanishes, or sometimes it atempts to use the default win xp ip wich i believe is the 169.xxx.xx.xx. I trie to repair the conection but it just keep me saying that it cannot conect to the server. I switched cables also, tried to force the default modem settings by desconecting it and reconecting. The only way is to shutdown the pc restarting it, and reseting the modem ( sometimes it works). Is it possible that the intel nic on this mobo is incompatible with the modem, or just plain simple a mobo/modem problem. I had a nic from 3COM and never had a problem with my ASUS A7V8X.
Suggestions will be very apreciatted.
