Loosing connection?

I have a satellite branch that has a VPN connection to our main office. We are using a SonicWall Pro at our main office and a SonicWall soho at the branch office. Currently I have one users there who is using a win 2K machine. I have him completely connected even where he is authenticated by our Domain servers and he maps drives to our main file server. Every morning he turn on his computer and logs in but no mapped drives. He then calls me and I VNC to his computer and reboot it and the drives map. Every morning this happens. Then just today he was working with a file off of our files server (word doc) and went to save and it said that the drive was not accessible. But our office and servers are still pingable from his end. I have him reboot and it work fine again. Could this be because win2k drops network connections to save bandwidth?

Thanks!
