Looser steering with new struts?

So I got new struts for my car and now I've noticed a significant change in steering. Every little bump or slip results in a jerk of the steering wheel. The alignment itself seems ok (stayed straight on a straight patch of road).

Did I just get used to harder steering while having bad struts or is something else going on?
 
That is an alignment issue.

Does the steering wheel return to center from a turn faster than before or slower?
Also the year, make, model, and what strut did you use?

If you ever drive a car with little or no caster in the alignment, you'l notice it takes very little effort to turn and is sensitive... i kinda liked it lol, able to drive with justa pinky finger

When my car did that it was a bad master control arm bearing. Though when mine did that it would some times lock the alignment in a bad setup till the next bump.

I don't really notice a difference when turning other than its smoother

That's a pretty average/soft strut. Unless your springs and struts were just toast I doubt you would notice that much difference.

Could be the strut was worn and the caster was off before. Do you have the before and after alignment numbers?
 
Alignment can "seem" ok on a straight road, but it may not be. I'd get that checked out.

Any time you do suspension work the alignment should be checked. With shocks, not so much as they don't have any bearing on the alignment, but struts do.
