anyone have any know how of how to fix this problem? If worse comes to worse i can always ship it to gateway and all that junk, but if it's an easily attainable fix i'd rather do it myself and save some money... anyway, the hinges on my Gateway 200 ARC notebook are a little too loose for my liking. Once i open the laptop at a certain point, it'll just fall all the way back so that its now open 180 degrees. Im sure the hinges are just loose, but i dont know how to access them to possibly tighten the screws. If anyone has any experience with these models or has any idea of how to do it (with pics would be even better!) i'd really appreciate it, thanks a lot for any help!

Well, the only thing you can really do is try to increase the friction between the screen hinge & the laptop hinge. I don't know what to tell you to try, but just use common sense and try different stuff that might increase the friction around there.

And Gateway might be able to do something about it, but it would cost a lot. A "200 ARC" sounds pretty old, maybe just use something to prop it up?

I had to send a few back in for this. Also, MAKE SURE your data is backed up. If yours was built before Oct 2004, GET the HDD cable fix from Gateway. The one they ship in it is too thin and comes loose easily. This is a known problem with the 200ARC's.
