loose connection when pc goes to standby!!

ok, so here is the setup.

my brothers pc is where the modem and router are attached through. at the moment im on my laptop with a wireless connection. recently for what ever reason, when his pc goes to standby it seems to disconnect from the net and I lose the wireless connection. this hasnt happened before and nothing has changed that I am aware of.

so, what could be cause the net to disconnect when his pc goes to standby??
 
What is probably happens is that the Wireless goes to sleep and then you loose the Internet.

Take a look at Windows and any propriety standby software and set it so that the Wireless would not go to sleep.
 
If his machine is passing traffic somewhere between your machine and the internet it will stop passing that traffic when it goes to sleep. If this is how it is setup, look at the power configuration on his machine to make sure it doesn't go to sleep. If this isn't how things are setup, I have no idea. 😛
