I work in an ER in DFW area & got a couple of calls yesterday from a social worker who works with one of the Psych teams, who told me that a patient had just gotten out of jail & had been calling all day about wanting to hurt people etc, & that he'd just gotten out of jail. the guy showed up with the DFD EMS folks, drunk as hell & got admitted to our psych ward.
I reviewed the guy's chart on the computer (something new for us, computerized notes, finally) and noticed he'd told his head shrinker on the 16th that he'd been considering assaulting an Arab, but kept it under control, and didn't think he would.
On the 19th he'd called from jail, relating he'd just gotten released & that he'd punched out a convienience store worker.
When he showed up in the ER, I asked him who he hit, & he told me he "Broke an Arab's nose."
The guy was drunk out of his mind, & I just told him he did what most folks had been thinking about for the last few weeks.
