Looks like Zuni made the changes to posting style

When we went from UBBB to Fusetalk, everyone cried their little eyes out. When the smilies were changed from UBB, everyone whined. So the smilies were changed again, and everyone whined.

The forums have been upgraded quite a few times over the past 4-5 years, and every time everyone has had something to cry about.

Yeah but this view sucks! You can't see the user's name really easiy like you could before. I have to strain my eyes to look for it!

Yea, but this is different. Everyone pretty much agrees that this view sucks. At least with the other changes, a good amount of people liked it at first.

Actually I haven't whined about anything because everything done so far is an improvement.

I do not consider this change an improvement. It makes seeing the poster's username VERY hard to see. How is that an improvement? You can say I will get used to it but I don't see how many something harder to follow and read an improvement.

I will say it looks pretty cool BUT i don't think it is as useable as the previous style.

Me no likey. Makes the pages waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay to cluttered IMO.
I agree. Much too busy. Leaves a LOT of wasted space on my monitor too (1600x1200).

Yeah, you're right. Its looks great on my Zaurus since the screen is small, but on my desktop at 1280x1024, it seems like dead space.

Also, when I browse from my Zaurus I get a "Quick Reply" screen at the bottom using Konquerer. However if I go to the site on my desktop using IE 6 or Opera, its not there...

I think the difference here is that the smilies are asthetics, which is just too bad. But this affects (negatively IMO) the usability of the site.

it's hard to see text when using the dark night theme, I had to change it to cool blue to be able to see better. other than that it looks ok, the only thing seems to be that it might be hard to read certain text with certain color schemes in the custom options.

I'd almost say the bold and non-bold text next to the avatar should be reversed. The poster's name and post count should be bolded, while stuff like "and has posted" should not be.

That would be much easier to read user name in my opinion.

I really don't like it... because I use the black/dark theme for these forums and this is what it looks like. As mentioned before, all that really becomes apparent when scrolling through a thread is the avatar. I can barely see the names...

EDIT>>> I just changed all TEXT to black and it's acceptable... but still liked the old way better...

I guess this makes it easier to nef though, no-one can associate nef posts with the usernames.
