Looks like we've annoyed somebody :)

There were only 2 or 3 pages at most when I read that thread earlier, now there's 6 :wine:  :wine:

What DC project is this for?

If there is an easy way to install it in a hidden manner, I could probably use some of the machines at my friend's pay-to-play LAN. He let me run SETI before, but I could never find a good package install once they upgraded to all Athlon XP machines. The reason I want it hidden is when customers using the machines see some funky little icon at the bottom of the screen, they tend to screw around with the settings, thinking it is affecting their game or whatever. They don't realize it just uses spare cycles, and gives up the crunching power when something else needs it.

Last time I checked they had a dozen machines, they may have expanded by now.

I've posted a question about a service install... hope someone can find you an answer!

Thanks. It doesn't necessarily have to be a service install, I just don't want anything obvious for a curious customer at my friend's store to tinker with. I am playing around with the main software from the site, and noticed that it has options to hide various aspects of it.

How does one join the AnandTech team for the project? I noticed under one of the options, it had a slot for a Team Number. Is every team assigned a number then? If so, what is TA's?

I should be signed up now. Tinkering with the basic software on my old home machine to see if there is a way to hide it thoroughly enough that the average customer won't stumble across it.
