Now tell me the military action of the US and its allies over the last couple of years hasn't had any influence on them coming clean!

1) The Libyans said so . . . that US BS abroad did not effect their decision.

2) The negotiations with Libya were spearheaded by the UK and began well before the Bush junta went Postal.

3) US intelligence knew Libya had naughtiness . . . we just didn't care enough to figure out how much. Apparently Libya didn't have enough oil to consider toppling the regime . . . yet.

The Libyans had this in the works with the British before the Iraq thing became an issue. They have been trying to weasel there way back into the worlds good graces since the handed over those two intel guys for Pan Am 101

I hadn't heard that tidbit but it makes sense. Gaddafi is basically a slightly less distasteful version of Saddam . . . kinda like choosing between the guillotine and hanging. Both of them sux and deserve lifetime incarceration but you cannot ignore the fact that Libya/Iraq were arguably far more progressive than theocratic Muslim states.

North Korea is not being more cooperative. Malaysia is ordering jet fighters - you never know about those uppity Thai

. Pakistan and India are behaving but that's in spite of Bush regime actions. Israel/Palestine?? Uzbekistan?? China threatens to drop a bomb on Taiwan everytime the Taiwanese consider voting. Russia still has its boot heal on the neck of Chechnya, although they are certainly biting back.
