Which is why it will be good news if Obrador loses.

Socialism is seriously some backwards logic.

Which is of course why the socialist countries are the ones with the highest standards of living and best places to live in.

What are you talking about. How about you back up your statements with facts. I can point to GDP per capital and show America outperforming almost every socialist country combined. No socialist country has a higher standard of living than America. Get that through your head.

I figured out why you love socialism. You're a moron living off your parents. You want and need someone to take care of you. Put your money where your mouth is, learn another language and move to one of those socialist countries, you leech.

 Nope, Lived on my own for over 15 years.

GDP means crap to standard of living, who cares how rich the rich are?

Remember the top 2% wealthiest in the country have most of the money anyway.

We all know the land we occupy currently in the united states is vastly wealthy in natural resources, so how does american capitalism fare?

2006 QoL Index
http://www.finfacts.com/irelandbusinessnews/publish/article_10005484.shtml

First american city you will find is #27 (Honoloulu) The rest are democratic socialist countries.

America has a big problem and we are headed downhill, I know right wingers love to cry about how socialism is a failure, but reality has altogether another story.

Modern conservatism is in real life everything that conservatives despise, while "lefties" are the one crying for smaller government.

Last I heard the leftist candidate was doing pretty well, but the other day I heard a news report about how choose not to participate in the presidential debate, and now it looks like the guy from Vicente Fox's party might win in July.

Relatively good news for Mexico I think.

So Vicente Fox is doing really well for Mexico... so well that all the Mexicans are fleeing the country!

I'll bet that it was "strongly suggested" that the leftist candidate step down "for his own safety." Can't have the rich lose any power in Mexico!!

I find these studies hilarious but did find this interesting.

As predicted, cities in Eastern Europe such as Budapest, Ljubljana, Prague, Vilnius, Tallinn and Warsaw continue to benefit from incremental score increases and are gradually climbing the rankings.

Gee you dont say, freed from the bonds of Soviet socialism and their standard of living is increasing?

Union of Soviet Socialist Republics. Technically, socialism was practiced in the USSR.

The thing that people most find confusing is the dynamic relationship between economic freedom and personal freedom. Although the USSR did practice socialism economically, the social repression within the country, especially during the early-mid twentieth century made it a less than desirable place to live for some.

P.S. A Soviet is a democratic council of workers that collaborate to make political and economic decisions. . . .

Modern Democratic Socialism 101 Questions and Answers

Question Hasn?t socialism been discredited by the collapse of Communism in the USSR and Eastern Europe?

Socialists have been among the harshest critics of authoritarian Communist states. Just because their bureaucratic
elites called them ?socialist? did not make it so
; they also called their regimes ?democratic.? We applaud the authentic
democratic revolutions that have transformed the former Communist bloc. We also expect that the socialist parties
that are reemerging in Eastern Europe will be essential in the struggle to protect workers? rights, to ensure equality for
women, and to promote social justice. The improvement of people?s lives requires real democracy without ethnic
rivalries and/or new forms of authoritarianism. Democratic Socialists will continue to play a key role in that struggle
throughout the world.
The fall of Communism should not blind us to injustices at home. We cannot allow all radicalism to be dismissed
as ?Communist.? That suppression of dissent and diversity undermines America?s ability to live up to its promise of
equality of opportunity.

Now can we quit with the ignorance?

Yeah, look at the majprity of area in Russia that have been nearly destroyed due to the fall of communism. Inevitebly there will be geographic regions which enjoy certain advantages (access to transporttation, resources etc.) Much of Eastern Europe has benefited fron the fall of communism because their resources are not being distributed to other parts of the world.

Socialism is based on uniformity and a universal standard of living. When socialism is removed from an area the economic prosperity of that region will becom non-uniform.

Come on people . . . get a clue . . .

That is getting kind of desperate isnt it? Having to find a faq from socialists who obviously have something to gain by distancing themselves from the failure of their ideology?

Be like using a republican faq to distance themselves from Nixon.

Nixon was a republican, modern socialism is NOT communism, there is no workers revoloution, this is the point of communism, what is so hard about this concept is it to grasp for right wing americans?

If anything republicans running the show have brought us closer to the big government totalitarian regime of the soviet union then any democratic socialist state in europe, even without their precious guns to protect them.

You are just a paranoid wingnut on a commie scare, the rest of the world speaks for itself, sorry you can't handle reality.

Are you kidding me here man? Do you have any clue what happened with the USSR during its early history? You obviously know that the ideologists (Lenin and Trotsky) were removed from power pretty early on by Stalin. After 1930, the people who had spread the idea of the revolution were gone and Stalin was left to shape the country.

And? We have already established the utopian dream of Communism just that, a dream.

For the nth time it is a step towards the utopian dream. I dont know how many times I have to spell it out for you to understand. I put them into the some mold because of convenience.

When the republicans start outlawing land ownership let me know.

LOL thats how boy Bush made his fortune. Stole land from owners around proposed arlington stadium then sold and rented it to businesses for millions profit.

GenX is pretty much clueless about damn near everything. You're a Saint Steep for "walking" him though basic civics.
