"Nintendo has announced that the North American launch of the GameCube console has been pushed back from November 5 to the 18th of that month. The company said that it plans to ship 700,000 units for the North American launch of the console, and a total of 1.1 million units will be shipped by the end of the year. Two first-party titles are currently planned for launch. They are Luigi's Mansion and Wave Race: Blue Storm." --Videogames.com

Two games at launch... Seriously!?! Or is that just first party?

Can't wait for Xbox and GameCube to come out so I can finally get a PS2 for cheaper.

Why are people even suprised when nintendo does this? Are they going to pull the old "remember when we said 700,000? We only have 8 and some taco bell mild sauce packets, actually. taps foot, waiting until day after thanksgiving... Wow! We found another 800,000 behind a dust bunny. Get 'em while you can! They may be gone already!" trick.

I think that that 2 games will pick up to another 3 games by launch date. Maybe. Probably not though.

On a side note, when are the GameCube or Xbox going to get some capcom love? I'd like to see some street fighter mapped out on that gimpy GC controller.

I doubt N would do that, considering we got to see sony choke on a fat one last christmas with their piss poor supply. N probably wouldn't want to piss off people like Sony did and actually have things available for launch.

Nintendo delaying a hardware release? There's a shock...

Actually I was surprised it was only a 2 week delay. Then again, until I see one on the shelves.

I wonder if they are doing this intentionally so they can have more systems available to sell and then say they sold more in the first few days than the Playstation 2?

Don't they realize the gamers that were brought up on Zelda are now in their 20's and 30's? What an absolute joke. Zelda was my favorite game of all time but they have truly ruined it for me.

Oh well, back to my PS2.

well eatehr way... id think id rather upgrade my computer then buy a Console seeing as if i could get my hands on a Cable modem or DSL i could just download the games ;) hehe and every one knows people will Emulate them... so why even buy a console any more? soon as Cable and DSL get into more Rural areas like where i am at... there will be no need to buy a console (except PS2 :D) and every one knows that Computer games are ebtter then console games any ways! but this is just my opinion

GameCube looks like fun. I have already bought one. Also bought an Xbox and I have a Dreamcast and a PS2 in my living room right now. I also have a GeForce 3 on my PC.

Ahh... gaming is good now! :)

This news doesn't really bother me, I'm sure I'll enjoy the system just as much, but now it looks like I'll be playing with the Xbox first. I'm pretty excited about seeing NFL Fever, Madden 2002 and NFL2k2 on the Xbox.

P.S. NCAA 2002 for my PS2 is freaking awesome! I love it!

Well let's see here, the X-Box is around $300 and the GeForce 3 is a little over $300. OK, let's plug the X-Box into a TV and then let's plug a GeForce 3 into a monitor. Now let's see which looks and performs better. I'll give you a hint, the X-Box set up will BLOW the GeForce 3 set up away since for $300 you'll ONLY have a GeForce 3 with NO system to go along with it. ;)

Let me give you the low down on Nintendo. Nintedo was AWESOME when they released their first console. Even their next console, the Super NES, was OK. However, after that it way ALL Sony! Nintendo's slow release of the N64 was the reason Sony broke off from them and made their own console, the PlayStation. Nintendo was trying to make a 64bit CD-ROM console but could do it on schedule so they just released the N64 in cartridge form. In the mean time Sony busted out with the Playstation (which is 32bit) that used CD-ROM media and was a HUGE hit. Nintendo made a nice profit with the N64 too but it was geared to a MUCH younger audience than the PS. I have bought just about EVERY console and was looking for ONE reason to buy a N64 but couldn't come up with ONE! Their games were HORRIBLE! Why they keep making new Mario titles I don't know. They might as well come out with Barney and Sesame Street games! The X-Box and the PS2 are the ONLY consoles I would consider worth getting until I see Nintendo put out something other than these G rated games. :disgust:
