Looks like Florida is going to Bush. . .

According to CBC radio, Florida is having problems again. There are a number of machines borken, as well as over 1 000 000 absentee ballots which were sent out too late. The ACLU has already started legal action on thier behalf.

Does anyone have web-based info on this? Or thoughts, comments?

Did you really think there would not be problems? There are problems in every state but this one will be fought over by crybabies for as long as the courts allow it.... regardless of which side wins.

1 000 000 people disenfranchised, and you call them crybabies? Note that it is the ACLU, not the Democrats pushing the suits.

And no one said that these people were mostly Democrats.

I'm a native... 3 or 4th gen to be born here, depending on the branch of the family tree you look at.

I'm the first to admit this is a backwards state. Kind of like an inbred cockerspaniel. Pretty to look at but dumb as a rock. It's always been kind of hard for me and my family to live here. No culture to speak of... crappy schools... out of control developing with no responsibility... it's a weird blend of hick and immigrant.

I hope that Florida goes to Kerry... but knowing my mentally challenged neighbors, I'm not too terribly hopeful.

CBC = Canadian Broadcasting Corp?

Good going Florida, I really thought Ohio was going to look like the short bus state this year, but if Florida really managed to screw up 1,000,000 ballots, I think they managed to make everyone else, including Ohio, look like f*cking Einstein. :thumbsup:

I know that the 58,000 absentee ballots that were reported supposedly "missing" from the post office in Dade/Broward last week was later revised to 6000.

iow, don't believe the hype.

Florida - please not again... Palm Harbor, FL resident here. Jokes from last election were bad enough. We don't need any new ones.

FWIW I'm on the opposite coast of the problem area in the last election.

Why sure. They aren't all Democrats. My brother's wife is Rep and they wouldn't let her vote. Her registration wasn't changed when they moved from Polk to Osceola in time. Wouldn't let her do a provisional either.

Reading your reply makes me feel that you have a racist look at your fellow FL citizens. And that's really to bad IMO.

Yes - CBC has a little less vested in the outcome of the election, so they're being a little more aggressive about calling things than the American networks.

(Florida has already been called for Bush, even given the huge number of absentee ballots).
