Ah, but they are quoting HKEPC. That's why I believe it. If they just said something like, "We learned from a reliable sources brothers, cousins, that Merom will launch on July 23rd." Then yes I would agree with you. But not in this case.

So according to the story, they moved up the launch date to the 23rd, but kept the August shipping date.

I wouldn't be surprised. Intel just shipped five notebook samples to press worldwide, including both Merom and Yonah CPU's for testing. Their second batch of testing for the rest of the press won't arrive until August.

Basically they just want to keep the grandeur coming all at the same time, really beat AMD down.

Well, for one thing, HKEPC has had pretty much bang on information usually well ahead of most of the popular review sites. What do you think of that?
