The premise didn't appeal to me at all, and I guess I wasn't alone with that opinion.

What's so bad about BulletStorm? It's really not a bad game, just overpriced. I enjoyed it in the same way I enjoy moves like Commando or games like Contra. It's total over-the-top action & violence. The graphics and environments are beautiful -- no running around in generic brown sewers filled with crates. There is a great selection of weapons that are a blast to use. The dialog is cheesy and loaded with swears.

So what if it's not Deus Ex? Just enjoy it for what it is.

It's a ripoff at $60, but at $20 this would be worth every penny IMO.

That's the problem, it's still up there in price at retail. There's been sales here and there but the best I've seen in $30. Based on what you said we still haven't reached the "worth it" price... so THAT'S what's bad about it. So far it's been a bad value. Not the worst game out there by any stretch, but just not worth it yet.

I've heard it's severely infected with consolitus. :\
That & Epic has quite happily decided that PC gamers don't matter since UT3's time.
That's said that quite clearly, so i've no interest in giving them my money anymore.

Yep. Those cocksuckers turned on mouse acceleration by default and had no in-game option to turn it off. Fine. Lots of games make you edit the config to turn it off. But then what did they do? They encrypted the config files. Good thing they half-assed that too, and the encryption was laughably weak.

Well I paid 22 I think at D2D; it's ok I'm not in love with it. The problem is that it is very one dimensional; lots of artificial barrier. I haven't really played a great shooter since far cry 1. The humor in this game doesn't really grab me and it tries to be a reflex game and there are just a little details that are annoying (stupid things about how it interfaces with gfwl and how it progresses; can't really put my finger on it). The graphics are decent in most places I guess and the sniper rifle is kind of neat but I'm not sure I would buy it again or play it a second time. Definitely will pass on bullestorm 2. Oh well. Wish someone would make a game like farcry but with perhaps a better story.

Did not buy it, did not try the demo (was there one?), just watched the trailers for it and was turned off from it.

No idea about the messages, but from what I have read, it is gutter level humour, and that is well below what I find entertaining.

Two outstanding things that turned me off, GFWL and the slow-motion killing (not replaying as I could see, just for killing about all "combo" kills). That is a no-no for my enjoyment of games.

I enjoy Bulletstorm. Have played through it twice. It is the game I play when I get frustrated with other games.
