Just watched the trailer. Hmm. People in the water getting nibbled on by sea creatures? That's original. I thought it looked pretty dull. Didn't interest me in the least.

Eh, might be alright. Can't really tell a whole lot from the trailer.

The movie looks dumb. 'Based on true events'. Yah, here's what probably happened.

"Two people are scuba diving... this is their story.
Oh noes!! The boat has left us!
Hey captain we left those two people.
Oh, let's go back and get them.

5 minutes later...

We were saved! Can you imagine what might have
happened to us had we been left for a few days or weeks?!"

repost... :pNot exactly. The dive shop figured they were missing about 24 hours later and they were never found...

There was a fascinating article in the NY Times this weekend about the controversy surrounding their deaths. Some people believe the couple were faking their own deaths...

The movie isn't based off one account, but many accounts of the same thing happening.

The movie is "based" on a true story, but it is almost entirely a fabrication as the only two people there aren't around to tell their story...

Do you know if that article is on their web site? Or did you actually read it in the paper? I'm lazy. :p

Hmm... people stranded alone in one spot afraid to move with the ever-present danger of being killed, hmm, low-budget, not very appealing.... hmmmm....

I can appreciate a lower budget movie that tries to move the audience psychologically rather than visually. I will definitely see this movie.

I'll go see it if my g/f buys me popcorn. I'll do anything for movie theater popcorn and a big cherry coke. We could go see a 4 hour adaptation of Oprah's life (ok, maybe that's going too far), but if I have popcorn the whole time, I might be able to last it out.

The movie is "based" on a true story, but it is almost entirely a fabrication as the only two people there aren't around to tell their story...

On Discovery Channel (for Shark Week) they have what is real footage of a (who is, as they put it, an "expert") female diver who was left behind by her boat. She apparently had a video camera with her and she recorded the events. I never managed to see this special (maybe they'll play it again) but she seemed pretty scared and there were sharks swimming around her.

Looks like the kind of movie that would make me rather have someone punch me repeatedly in the crotch.

saw it tonight... it's worth the suspense it provides you. your girl will be hugging your arm closely and possibly screaming at times. it's not a bad flick overall... you're never really bored. And the ending... well ya gotta see it.

Everytime the preview comes on I laugh so hard at the part where the woman freaks about "Ahh something touched my foot!". Just like so many girls swimming in lakes or ponds and freak out when seaweed touches them.

The whole movie, "ahh something touched my foot hold me omglolwatershark".
