Looking up user name for IP address? I'm so upset.

I am not sure if I am posting in the correct place, please forgive me.

Someone has posted horrible things about me - I am a clean living mom of 5, happily married to Matt, but I digress.....

The person who owns the forum has deleted the posts and sent me the IP address. Is there a way to look up who that IP address belongs to?

And what should I do? Obviously report them, but.......what else do I do?

 
thats it....any information you can pull up from the IP address will go back to the company who he gets internet service from. Only thing you can really do is call the ISP who owns the IP and see if they're willing to do anything for you. Be prepared to show logs with timestamps of when they posted so they can track him if its dialup and his IP is dynamic
 
We have all the copies, and it looks like we can report them, but then it is up to the ISP to take care of it from there. We will probably never find out who it was.

Unless I missed something, how do you know how old she is? She could be 65 for all you know 😉
