looking to upgrade

i'm waiting for amd to cut its prices on its processors and i'm looking to pickup a cheap x2 3800...some news sites show that on 7/24/2006 the price of the x2 3800 will be around $154, but then i see some posts here saying that amd will cut its prices even further, around 60% or so...does that mean the x2 3800 will be lower than $154? or is $154 as low as it will get?
