INTEL ONLY. I will not purchase AMD.

Looking for a DDR3 solution.

SLi config -- Is SLi really worth the config? I haven't been able to find a DDR3 mobo that has an SLi chipset.

Wondering what would be a good mobo/CPU to research?

Good power supply.

A good heat monitor too for inside the case and the video cards since i'll be running 2 cards.

Why do you want DDR3? There's not much performance gain in the first place. When you throw in the rock-bottom prices of DDR2, it just doesn't make any financial sense to get DDR3.

I'm Looking to play COD4, Crysis, CS: Source, etc.

If the performance boost aint worth it for DDR3 then I'll go w/ DDR2. I'm also looking to build a "green" PC. I've read that DDR3 lowers power consumption. That's why I wanted it.

So what is a good mobo/CPU? 2 or 4GB RAM? Currently I run 2GB but I'm goin to run Vista Ultimate on this new system as well.
 
What's your budget? Are you planning to overclock? If you weren't planning on it, are you willing to try?
 
I'm not really interested in overclocking. I may try but doubt it.

Keep in mind I also have a 22" widescreen w/ native resolution of 1680x1050. This is why I was thinking of an SLi system.

Budget is between $1000-1500.

I need CPU, Mobo, RAM, Vid. card (if I go SLi, currently I have an 8800GTS 640MB but if I go SLi I will buy 2 new cards.), 10,000RPM hard drive, & power supply (if I go SLi).

Since he already has an 8800GTS, he may as well keep it, rather than buying a new card.
 
If you already have an 8800GTS 640mb, I suggest you wait until GF9. Also 10,000 rpm drives are rather noisy. The new Samsung F1 drives are really fast and offer a lot more storage to boot.

I would get E8400 Penryn for $184 (it should be out shortly).

I would not get an SLI solution.

I suggest waiting for an Intel E8400 as a previous user posted/suggested, and get the Gskill 2x2GB PC2-8000 memory kit. As for motherboard, any P35 chipset board will work perfectly out of the box with no messing around and depending on your budget, highly recommend Asus P5K, and if you can afford it, Asus P5K Premium. If you really want to get a new video card, you can't go wrong with an 8800GTS 512mb (G92) from any brand.
