I currently have an ati 8500dv agp graphics card and want to upgrade to a dual output card that does dvi, is there anything on the market that is a good dual dvi card that also has the features of the 8500dv (the tv & firewire/svid/comp inputs are nice and I do use them often) but I would give up the tv tuner and video inputs to get good solid dual dvi monitor abilities (and maybe add a pci tv tuner card later?)

I would like to stay under $200-$250 on the video card if possible.

My main uses for video and monitors are video editing, web design, photoshop work, then normal stuff like surfing the web emails etc, (no gaming, no movie watching etc).

Thinking of getting 2 matching 19 inch lcds to sit side by side, i think it would be really nice for webdesign and graphics work in photoshop etc. Had a few questions on lcds too...

I would like to stay under $250 per monitor if possible.

First off on lcds ok I know I should be getting something with dvi output over vga right? But should I go normal 4:3 aspect or widescreen aspect? I have an agp slot so I would prefer to use that vs pci btw for the video card.

I have only used normal 4:3 and am not sure if I get two 19 inch widescreens if I will be annoyed or appreciate the widescreen part, do people mainly go widescreen for games and dvd playback? (if thats the case I will pass on widescreen). My main uses for the video card and monitors will be webdesign, photoshop and some basic video editing none of which requires widescreen.

Lastly what makers for video cards should I be looking at guessing ati and matrox or???

I have used ati in the past and right now actually (all in wonders, and this 8500dv currently), once you get them installed right things are good but this one was a PAIN to install took a good half day of redoing it with instructions in hand to get it all setup and working right, are matrox cards any better or all about the same when it comes to that?

Lastly looking for an upgrade mainly for that dual monitor feature, want decent looks/performance out of the card but no gaming involved, are there any cards I should be looking at that might also do the input stuff I currently like on my ati 8500dv (my card also has tv tuner in it) very nice feature and I DO use it, but wondered should I just get a pci tv card and a dual head agp video card (so both do their own thing vs all in one).

Just would like to find a good balance of video card and monitors that will give me decent good quality images and workspace visuals without dissapointing me in areas of color and detail.

Currently the video card i am using is ati 8500dv with a princeton 19 inch lcd monitor thru dvi and thru vga (I honestly dont see a difference) but I am thinking if i go up i should get dvi right?

Thanks for any input or advice.
