I have an Athlon 2000+, about jump to a Barton 2500+ and thought I would upgrade my video card.
I have a GF4 MX440 (don't laugh) it runs most games decently but a few of the new ones I bought really bog down on it. Especially Lord Of The Ring: ROTK.

I play a lot of games, but I don't need to run them 1600x1200 with 16X FSAA and all that jazz. I really don't want to spent a lot on a card. And to me $200 is a lot (I was looking at the 9600XT though) I'd like to get a new(er) card that can push games nicely with moderate settings, 1024x768 without all the extra eye candy enabled would be fine. I was thinking about getting an 8500 off Ebay. I know the card is old and not super quick, but still kills my MX card *yuck*
any suggestions on how I could best spend around $100 on a new card?

thanks

thanks, looking at those on Ebay right now. It looks like for about 20 dollars more I could get a 9500 (non pro) decisions decisions :)
