Looking to upgrade a Laptop

I'm looking to upgrade my Precision M65.

I'd like a faster cpu and a faster video card, but I don't want to void my warrantee.

I've heard that the mobile Core Duo can be replaced with a mobile Core 2 Duo. Likewise, I know of people who have upgraded video cards.

Can either of these be done without voiding the warrantee (assuming I put the original parts back in if I ever need warrantee work), and if so, how hard are they to do and where do I find mobile video cards?

im upgrading my inspirion 9400 from a x1400 to a 7900GTX just keep your old card and cpu if aything goes wrong put it back in ship it off

Upgrading the CPU or GPU on your own are not covered by the warranty and essentially void the warranty. I don't know how Dell knows if you did remove the CPU heatsink; maybe some kind of breakable sticker. As for upgrading the GPU, you'll only be able to use what was offered with the M65 since I doubt that it is MXM compatible, and even with that, if the BIOS could support a different video card.
